Hastelloy C22 is a versatile nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy which provides resistance to general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, intergranular attack, and stress corrosion cracking. It contains chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and iron which makes the alloy resistant to corrosion in stagnant or flowing seawater. The UNS number is NO6022. It has excellent resistance to oxidizing aqueous media including acids with oxidizing agents, wet chlorine and mixtures containing nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chlorine ions.
