Alloy 317 / 317L (UNS S31700 / S31703) is a low-carbon stainless steel with increased additions of chromium, nickel and molybdenum for better corrosion resistance than type 316L. In addition, annealing can be performed on both grades between 1850 F and 2050 F, followed by rapid cooling.
